Cassandra's Baptism Testimony

Before I trusted Christ, even though I was born in a Christian family, I did not know anything about Christ. When I was little, my parents did mention to me about the story of Jesus. Being small then, I was not very interested about it. I kept wondering 'Why do I need Jesus in my life?'; I thought that as long as I maintained a good attitude in life and did well in my studies, that was all I needed. But I was wrong.

My friend Yan zhi invited me to his church (FCBC) in 2008. At first i hesitated because I remembered going to my first church and feeling not too belonging there. After much consideration, I attended FCBC's service and followed the pastor in saying the sinner's prayer for the first time in my life. Continuing to attend service with my cell, I even went for the Encounter Weekend with a few sisters. Never had I known so much about Jesus and God's truth and allowed Him to work so powerfully in my life. I began to better understand that sin had separated me from God and the victorious life He has for me.

God continued to shine light into the areas of my life that He wanted to work in - many of which I never thought were important to change. But they have been very important to Jesus all these while! I thank God that He never lets go of me all these years. After knowing Jesus in a deeper way and belonging to a family of God, I have learnt how to forgive people, like how Jesus had forgiven me of my sins. I also became more confident of myself and do not feel overly worried about my problems anymore. My relationships with my family and friends have improved a lot too. With Jesus with me, my life has had so much more meaning.

Have these ever happened in your life? :)

Sher Minh's Baptism Testimony

dearMinh-

I can remember clearly how I was before I came to Christ. At that point of time, I can never describe what being happy was. Everything that filled my mind were negative thoughts like “I’m useless, I’m not worth anything” etc. Suicidal thoughts would follow and I can really say that my emotions were like a rollercoaster ride. Self consciousness were flooding me and I was really mindful of what people think of me. I started to become very distant from people, yet craving for attention from them. My relationships with my friends were broken due to jealousy, and the unforgiveness out of my broken family. I got into complicated boy-girl relationships to find love and attention that I had never gotten from my family.

On July 6th 2008, one of my best brothers, Shingkai, introduced me to FCBC. The sermon that I first attended was on self consciousness. I felt like God was just beside me, giving me comfort and most importantly, a wake-up call to stop dwelling in the situations I was in. I could remember myself crying and crying, and when my cell leader, Mirabel, prayed healing for me, I could sense that God was there for me. At that point, I was so touched and amazed by His love for me, that I decided to receive Him as my Saviour, my Lord and my Father.

Throughout my walk with God so far, He has truly moulded me into a better person. I am now a happier person with positive thoughts; I want to live my life to the fullest. In my encounter camp last December, I had truly forgiven my mother and father who had a divorce when I was two. My dad had inflicted verbal and physical abuse onto my mother. He was also a drug addict and had tried to feed me with drugs when I was two. Jealousy no longer resided in my friendships and most importantly, I had gained a very caring, supportive and wonderful spiritual family. No matter what happened, I have never been negative and never regretted receiving the Lord as my Saviour and King.

Heaven Rejoices over Nicolette and Jamie's Baptism!

Celebrating Nico & Jamie

Jamie's Baptism Testimony

I come from a good family background, where my parents are also Christians and have no marriage problems, and from young I saw my dad doing quiet time every morning. I really felt that I was carefully brought up in God’s hands, and He taught me what is right and wrong. When I was young I was scared of going to church and scared of the Bible because there’s this “devil” thing that I saw in a short skit in a church during the adult service, in which i did not understand their sermons at all. I did not go to the children's service because I tended to stick to my mum and cry if she left me to other people. (Laughs).

Recently when I started learning piano from a Christian teacher, I somehow got close to God again. She started praying for God to stir my heart, and He really did. I became more conscious about the loneliness in my heart - I had a lot of friends but only little close ones to go to, and often felt very down without a particular guy friend's sms for no good reason. As time passed, I felt very down and could hardly joke around or be happy wholeheartedly.

I did not know who to turn to, then God came to my mind. Looking at the calendar, which showed that 25th November 2007 (which was also my birthday) was a Sunday, I then decided to approach one of my friends in FCBC to tell him that I wanted to go church on that Sunday. Upon making that decision, I felt this Hand pushing me behind telling me “Just go, take that first step, and just go, don’t have to think too much anymore”. ha-ha I guess it was really God calling, and the good thing is I obeyed. :)

After coming back to God, of course things changed - there is now more security in me, and I started not caring much about what I wear to school everyday. I had cleared my doubts in God and can easily trust God and account to Him in times of trouble. I began spending time reading the Bible and soaking in God’s presence. All I can say is it is amazing. There is more happiness and joy in my life which help me to care for others more and also to bring happiness into their lives, beginning from the people around me (family, friends, and new cell sisters).

My cell leader’s care is real; each and every little step I take, she cares. She is always asking me “How are you feeling?” or “Are you ok?”. I can easily account to her my “progress” with God. I also ask her questions to clear my doubts, and became more stable in Christ, now being able to recognise that things that happen are all part of God’s plans, never coincidental. If I have not gone to church for spiritual nourishment, I would be spiritually dead. He gives power to the weak and to them who have no might, He increases strength. He said to me, "My Grace is sufficient for you, for My Strength is made perfect in weakness". God is R-E-A-L to me!

God cares more than you think

An amazing testimony that i saw on a brother's blog:

Went for cell grp yesterday night. Had a chat with my leader Sharul. As usual we talk abt guitars n i asked him abt the Gibson guitar tt he used on Sun svc. Then he shared an amazing testimony.

He had a "Made in US" californian Fender telecaster at home so one day he decided to post it on guitar forums n see if it has market value n how much it can fetch. He got good offers n one day, there's a guy who called him n asked whether can he exchange his guitar with his. Sharul tot tt this guy muz be offering lower end guitars but to his surprise, the guy offered him a Gibson Classic or Custom which can cost between $3k to $5K. His Fender telecaster only cost around $1k plus.

So he went to this young chap house which is in Nassim Road(super rich). He went to his basement n he saw many guitars hanging on the wall, this guy is a collector. He brought him to 2 guitar cases n Sharul open it. Man, it's really a Gibson Custom n Classic. Tt guy wanna exchange one on one with Sharul's. Sharul was shocked n told him he did not wanna cheat him, his guitar doesn't match up to the guy's guitar at all. Tt guy didn't mind at all, cuz his collection lack a telecaster. Sharul took the Classic instaed of the Custom.

So Sharul told him why not exchange for 2 weeks first n see whether he still wanna exchange or not. Tt guy agreed. So Sharul took it back n play with the guitar. When he saw the serial no of the guitar, he was shocked. U see, 2-3 yrs back, Sharul went to a guitar shop n he saw a Gibson Classic n he played with it. He loved it very much, but he can't afford it at all. But he took down the serial no. n went home. He pinned up the pic n serial no. on his "dreams board" at home. Linda, his wife, prayed for his dream guitar whenever she pass by the board.

After a while Sharul didn't pray for it anymore but his wife kept praying for it. So when he looked at his guitar he was holding....he got a shock....the serial no. is exactly the same as the no. he took down of the guitar 2-3 yrs back...it's the same guitar!!!! He called his wife n he found out she has been praying for his dreams n even proclaim tt he'll hv more to come!!!

Answered Prayer from 100K!

In every step of faith I have taken for God during this 100K campaign, much as the recepients were surprised, I was as much amazed myself at their responses - stunned, teary eyes, great smiles etc. Indeed God is opening many hearts; the land is thirsty!
***

I visited my ex-colleague Karen's family this Tues night to pass a birthday present to her daughter. Suddenly God prompted this in my heart - bless her entire family! I was both excited, yet a little fearful of how Karen, a staunch Buddhist, would respond. After some time of catching up and playing with her new puppy, I said,

'Karen, can I bless your family?' (I had blessed Karen before I left my previous workplace)

She replied instantly, 'SURE! Go ahead!"

In the next moments she was exclaiming on my behalf to her children and husband to look through the blessing list, telling them to quickly and seriously choose and then come to me one by one.
I told her, I felt like a doctor at a clinic (the armchair basically). Ha.

It really blew my mind to be able to bless an entire family on one seemingly normal night. And it would have remained normal if I had ignored God's prompting and drawn back in doubt.

* **

I received a sms on Friday 'Oooh hey I got full marks for my test!'.

Last week Eejay and I met up with a young couple for dinner. The 19-year old young lady was in our Trybe (formerly Thumbs-up!) class five years ago, and both of us had each built up a special bond with her. We asked to bless her and her boyfriend for 100K, and the young man wrote 'Pray that I don't sleep' as one of his additional needs. Ha.

Well he was extremely stressed for his test this Tuesday, and concluded that only if he did not sleep at all then he could do well. We rebuked him gently, saying no to his request and turned the prayer request around to pray strongly that he would do exceedingly well for this test while receiving sufficient rest.

And praise the Lord! You read the answered prayer above - full marks!

Are you discouraged at any point of time?

1. Be honest with yourself and with others about your state - God knows and authenticity is the 1st step towards breakthrough
2. Look for someone to partner - someone who is bolder
3. Ask me to do it together with you
4. Believe God totally without holding back
5. Put action to your faith!

My Faith Story for 12 July

I was praying throughout today for God to grant me the chance to pray for at least one of the beauticians at my facial place tonight. Not unexpectedly I began to fidget upon reaching the vicinity and wondered, 'They are always so busy... What excuse should I use?'..

Reminding myself that the first step is BLESS... I scooted off to buy four bottles of chrysanthemun and offered them. FELLOWSHIP time was throughout my enjoyable facial. Haha.

Towards the end of the session, seeing that all of them were still busy, I began to talk myself into giving up. Yet I knew I had prayed and God would not let me leave like this. So at the last moment, I said to Nancy for the first time (Why didn't I do it last time??) and very sincerely, 'Nancy, do you know you can feel free to share your prayer requests with me? I will gladly pray for you'. My heart thumped slower.

Before I even described the 100k campaign to her, she began to share, frowning, about her worries about some possible problems with the landlord. Immediately I said, 'Come! I pray for you!', blessing her beyond what she shared. (Sharing of Real Needs - PRAYING ANSWERED PRAYERS)

The next moment, she looked at me with big watery eyes (like a cartoon character), cupped my face with both hands, then hugged me and began to thank me profusely. She said, 'You are really a very kind girl' and I replied, 'No, my GOD is good! Dare to ask God too yourself, anytime you need a blessing!'. (PROCLAIM) =)

Gals, the land is really filled with people with needs. Be bold to go and bless. The people out there are thirsty for blessings. And when they see us bless them with no strings attached, they are touched deeply by God's unconditional love. Will you be that representative today?

Not us, then who?
Not now, then when?

So joyful that God still used me even at my verge of giving up for today, I tried to bless the taxi driver who brought me home. I could not think of any opening line and blurted, 'Do you work until very late?'

The driver gave me a bewildered look, anxiously shook his head, and looked ahead. Oops case closed for this.

As I walked to my flat, I chuckled to myself, 'Oh no, did I sound like I wanted to ask him out just now??!!!!'

Who can I bless tomorrow? =)

Jesus can heal, but beyond that, He WANTS to heal!

From Saturday night, we already heard of a 70-yr old lady who could not walk for 15 years stood up and walked at Hokkien service. Even reading that one-line news off my pc screen caused me to sob.

Indeed Jesus is able to heal, but beyond that, He WANTS to heal!

As you gals know, I was on stage throughout the healing ministry time. i saw many many faces... all expressing the desperation to be set free from sicknesses, addictions, fear, depression.. Tears were in my eyes as i interceded for them on the stage.

If i could be moved by the sight, i could not imagine the immense compassion Jesus has for them.

His hand moved.

Then we heard testimonies of healing that occured right before us:
+ One was 70% deaf in one ear, after prayer she said it was only 30% deaf.
+ One had severe pain in the knee, after prayer it was completely healed.
+ A gal had sinus and her nose was blocked before prayer, after prayer she could breath deeply and without obstruction.
+ One had pain in her elbow, afterwards he felt much better and could move it around.

Some of you told me they showed on screen LIVE, this old lady who arose from her wheelchair to stand after the leaders prayed for her.

When i was running about in Hall 9 before service, i too had seen another old lady, supported by a family member, walking beside her empty wheelchair!

There were still many many healings given, which could not be validated on the spot (ie. need medical checkups/doctors' report etc).

Jesus is real, and He is the God of Hope and New Beginnings!

Dear gals, even if we do not have physical illnesses, we have to run to our Father to allow Him to deal with our negative emotions everytime, especially those emotions that break us. Every tweeny bit of it is the evil one's plan to defeat God's wonderful plans for our lives.

So don't take our every bit of our emotions lightly. Share with me and one another, and claim complete healing and abundant blessings from God, victorious warriors!

God is Enlarging our Influence.

I cannot describe how excited i am, gals, for what God has in store for us.

Presently i just cannot thank God enough that He has clearly placed greater faith in each of us. Walking in the Spirit and partnering with the Holy Spirit is really exciting!

Meiqi also had the opportunity to share Christ with 2 of her colleagues yesterday! She also blessed one of them with the book 'A Purpose Driven Life'. In the name of Jesus, we declare that these 2 souls will come to lead Passion Driven lives in Jesus soon!

Thanks gals for praying for my time with Xianglin last night, and also my diarrhoea. Last night i tossed in bed for hours, didnt know why i was unable to sleep. I spent time praying instead, and God kept my spirit strong in Him.

I must share this amazing testimony.

3+ years ago, after i conducted Thumbs-up for a class in Bukit Panjang Govt High, i bonded with a bunch of girls from the class like never before. I knew God wants to use me in the relationships here, so i declared in Jesus' name that i want every of the girls in this clique to be saved.

Here were what then happened:

1. Within one year, Patricia accepted the Lord at a Thumbs-up camp.

2. One year later, after much persuasion by the Holy Spirit, Belinda said the Sinners' Prayer in the living room of her home.

3. Yet another year after that, Kah Li came to FCBC, received Christ and is now in a cell group in the adult network.

4. Last night Xianglin felt a touch of God like never before in her life.

God is awesomely faithful - faithful to hear our prayers, faithful to answer. Even through the years. As long as we are patient in Him, as long as we believe.

Last night i also cried (the mother's pain was so real) to the Lord for Patricia and Belinda to come back to the Lord. Pray with me!

Novie, i am still asking the Lord for a verse for Fanny. Will tell you when i hear! =) Want to affirm you for your heart for Fion too. Let's continue to show her Jesus through our lives!

My 'Before and After'

You saw me holding these big cards on stage at Max Pavilion last Saturday Night for the segment 'Flashcard Testimonies - Testaments of Christ's Faithfulness'.

How Great is our God... Sing with me How Great is our God....

* * *

Before i knew Christ - Fighting for man's approval

- Was trying hard to please almost everyone and meet their expectations
- If people do not think well of me/ i do not meet what they expect of me, i would feel super lousy and think of myself as a failure.
- One main factor: Since i was 16, my dad was overseas for work most of the time. The distance between me and my dad grew, and i began to doubt his love and approval of me. I found myself trying to do many things to win his approval so as to make myself feel worthy.

After i knew Christ - Wholly Accepted, Deeply Loved, Completely Assured in Christ!

+ Walking with Jesus along time, I began to know Him more, and realised His love for me really does not change at any time, even when i fail Him!
+ He is the Greatest Lover in the whole world!
+ With such assuring love, i grew more and more secure in Christ about myself, and came to know that my self-worth does not have to be dependent on the varying opinions and vast expectations of so many people. There is no way to please everyone!
+ Outcome of this: I began to pursue my dreams and work on the things of my heart with amazing fervor, confidence and passion!

* * *

It was an unexpectedly awesome (and also ultimately worrying) experience standing on stage for me, even for that few seconds... Gosh, all the big screens had just me! Bearing my life before the nations, i felt super bare for a moment.

Then i heard the cheers, and Ps Eugene even got the 7000-crowd to pray for all the 'flashers'. Indeed when we give God all the honour, He honours us back beyond our imagination.

Thanks for cheering for me dears, and more importantly, cheering for Jesus who transformed my life!

3 Cheers for Jesus!!!

Jabez Prayers. Jabez Moments.

1 Chronicles 4:9-10

Jabez was more honorable than his brothers.
His mother had named him Jabez, saying, "I gave birth to him in pain."
Jabez cried out to the God of Israel,
"Oh, that You would bless me and enlarge my territory!
Let Your hand be with me,
and keep me from harm
so that I will be free from pain."
And God granted his request.

The Lord truly understood how i felt burdened last week. And at His divine moment last Thursday, He led me to pray the Jabez prayer with a new strong convicted passion, lifting me up in the process. And at His divine appointment yesterday, He enlarged Novie's and my territory, and gave me awesome uplifting faith.

Just in a span of 3 days, the first exciting Jabez moment came.

God's heartcry for Fion (Dina's aunty. Sorry i wrote cousin yesterday, cos she is only 27 heh.) is bigger than what He has deposited in Novie and me. But our hearts aligned, that is why God offered that divine opportunity.

And Dina, you played a part too! You so passionately invited us to your house at the right timing! God must have led you. And to the rest of you who also prayed the Jabez prayer with me, your prayers moved God's hand.

As you can see, like i said yesterday, GOD WILL ANSWER, in His own ways. We had no agenda for Fion at all when we went to Dina's house (only agenda was to eat good food. Haha). All we did was to obey when the opportunity came, and partner with the Holy Spirit.

We believe that Fion cried while we prayed, not because she was touched by our words. She was touched by the Spirit. Let's continue to uphold her in prayer in faith! We will see her in church soon! =)

Pray the Jabez for yourself, and me! I am doing so for you!

How God has changed my life - in 100 words

(To be revised. Ps Eugene gave comment that i can add more heart voice, more feel. Will try again! =))

Why I am so passionate about God

I used to believe i could not achieve big things in life. There was always fear that bound me from trying and my family is not the type which openly encourages. After Jesus, i discovered He has exciting plans for me to touch and bless people's lives. That was what i always hoped to do since young. I have a heart for people, but fear told me i would be rejected. The fear is still present, but Jesus overcomes it and grants me courage to be a life coach and youth leader today. I have a purpose in Him!
(100 words)
